This should work with Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, WIndows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Vista, or almost any other version Versions before 3.1 will not work with the partition editor, but if your using one of those, I think it's time for a new computer If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment or message me.
For tmatma04:
I've heard some pretty dumb questions before, so don't be afraid to ask anything This is the live CD This is 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon Ubuntu can run on as little as 1.5 GB, but if you have an 80 GB hardrive, you can give it much more The small partition you are referring to might be what is known as the swap partition This is a part of your hardrive that is used as if it were RAM This offers a performance boost, and is automatically created using the installation method described in the video Although the installer can edit partitions, it is what is known as a destructive partitioner Resizing partitions with it will wipe all on the partition.
How to remove Ubuntu:
This is pretty simple, so I'll be brief First of all, we need to delete the Ubuntu partition(s) To do this, we shall once again call upon the mystical powers of GParted! To get a great version of GParted, goto http://www.partedmagic.com/downloads.html and download the latest version Once that is up and running, go ahead and delete any partitions that Ubuntu created DO NOT DELETE ANY OTHER PARTITIONS!! When they are gone, grow the Windows partitions to fill the newly created free space Now all we need to do is remove the GRUB boot loader Doing so will make Windows start automatically when the computer is started, like it most likely was before Ubuntu was installed To do this, boot the installation disk for Windows XP and-- uh-oh.. this sounds like my previous tutorial, but don't worry about that-- Ok, now as I was saying, boot the installation disk for Windows XP and press R to enter the "Recovery Console" and in that, type "fixmbr" without the quotes This will restore the boot loader to the default Windows XP one Just reboot and that's it!
