To show you just how easy, I've put together this short video that demonstrates the process.
You can find more info here: http://plasticmind.com/twitster/
Video transcript:
First, upload Twitster to the directory where you want it to be installed You can either upload it zipped and uncompress it using something like cpanel's file manager or you can just unzip it first and upload the uncompressed files That's what I'm going to do right now.. it's small, so it's not really going to matter either way.
Next, you need to make this directory writable during the installation so the wizard can write the config file: 777, world writable Make sure once you run the wizard you come back and set this back to what it was, most likely 755.
The final step is to run the wizard To start the wizard, in your browser just bring up the url where you uploaded Twitster In this example, I'm using http://plasticmind.com/twitsterdemo/ ...
The wizard pops up the first time you run Twister and asks you for the necessary information: just fill this out.
The hashtag is what Twitster will be filtering your friend's twitter posts by Setting up a tag to filter by comes in handy if you're creating a community focused on a particular topic.. but you can leave it blank and Twitster will show all tweets made by the people you're following.
Go ahead and fill in the rest of the form.
The Twitter account you're providing the information for will be the "authenticating account" In other words, everyone you're following with this particular account will be part of your Twitster group.
Fill in the relevant database information and click SETUP.
Then the wizard does it's magic and voila Your site will start receiving updates from your newly-created twitter group, powered by Twitster.
Not to hard, right?
