Creating a glowing lightbulb using Gimp

Here we will start with a blank page and a transparent, clear image of a non-lit light bulb. We are going to be shown how to add a background to the lightbulb, use different layers and layer modes to make the light bulb appear as though it's lit. We'll also use the path create tool to go along the filament of the light bulb and make it glow. We also look at how to add a Gradient Flare as a finishing touch.
