If you are unsure about some of the terms related to screencasts, that we refer to on the site, then this is the place to find out what they meanAs we develop the site, and come across more terms related to screencasting, we'll add them to this page, so all of our members have access to a list of useful definitions, of many of the common terms used in screencasting. Aspect Ratio - the aspect ratio of an image or video refers to the ratio of its width in pixels, by its height in pixels. Common resolutions in use include a standard TV which is 4:3, and widescreen TV, which is 16:9. Resolution - the resolution refers to the level of detail of the screencast. Most commonly, the resolution is measured by the number of pixels, both vertically and horizontally. The maximum resolution of a Screencast uploaded to ScreencastCentral is 800 pixels in width by 600 pixels in height. Screencast - a screencast is a digital video recording of the output of a computer screen, used to demonstrate software applications. It often contains voice over/narration to create a full multimedia presentation. As a screenshot is a picture of what the user sees on their monitor, a screencast is a video of what the user can see.
